Our overall aim for these awards is to accelerate the adoption of innovations and improvements to cancer services, diagnostics, treatments, enabling technologies or workforce on the ground – i.e., with tangible impact for patients, families and/or communities.
The innovation may be developed by you or a team locally, or it could be an idea, practice or technology-enabled change you’ve identified outside Wales which has potential to improve local cancer outcomes significantly if adopted into routine care or practice.
Applicants wanting to adopt novel ideas and solutions in the following areas are particularly encouraged:
- Encouraging access: approaches to increase the numbers of people presenting to services with suspected / possible cancers at an earlier stage
- Diagnosis: harnessing new solutions to detect cancers earlier
- Single cancer pathway: scalable approaches to reducing time to diagnosis and into treatment (and so reaching or surpassing the SCP target of 62 days)
- Value-based healthcare: Applying the principles of value-based healthcare for practical beneficial impact on cancer outcomes locally.
In the event of a large number of excellent proposals, priority will be given to those which contribute to cancer survival outcomes.
