We received a fantastic number of submissions to the 2024 Moondance Cancer Awards that highlighted the brilliant work taking place across Wales to improve cancer services and outcomes.
55 organisations, teams and individuals were shortlisted. The shortlisted nominees were considered by our esteemed panel of judges and the winners were announced at the celebration and awards night on the 13th June at Depot, Cardiff.
Achievement Awards
This category of awards recognises individuals and teams that have enabled positive change for cancer patients. Nominations were invited for 3 awards: Working Together, Better Patient Experience, Patient & Public Participation & Involvement.
Innovation & Improvement Awards
This category of awards celebrates individuals and teams that have innovated and/or improved cancer services, demonstrating better outcomes for (suspected) cancer patients and measurable improvements in the quality and effectiveness of services. Nominations were invited for 4 awards: Cancer Treatment, Cancer Workforce, Early Detection & Diagnosis, Working with Industry & Third Sector.
Excellence Awards
The excellence category spotlights key individuals who are inspiring and mobilising changes leading to better cancer outcomes in Wales. Individuals at all levels below Executive / Medical Director were eligible.
Applications were invited for 3 awards: Systems and Pathways, Non-medical & Nursing, Medical.
